Dr Sundeep Kaul is a Consultant Chest Physician based at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital, with full accreditation in Respiratory Medicine, General Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine. His triple-accredited background places him among a small group of respiratory specialists with the clinical depth to manage both common presentations and highly complex lung disease.
He provides specialist diagnosis and personalised treatment for the full range of respiratory conditions from chronic cough and breathlessness to obstructive sleep apnoea, asthma, COPD and Long Covid. Every assessment combines evidence-based medicine with genuine patient-centredness: listening carefully, explaining clearly and involving the patient in every decision about their care.
With extensive experience managing both acute and chronic respiratory disease including years in intensive care Dr Kaul supports patients through every stage of their respiratory journey: from initial investigation and accurate diagnosis, through to long-term management, rehabilitation and multidisciplinary follow-up.
Dr Kaul believes that good respiratory care begins long before a prescription is written. It starts with listening properly, without interruption to understand not just the symptom but the person behind it: how the breathlessness is affecting their sleep, whether the cough is costing them their confidence at work, what the patient has already tried and why it has not worked. That foundation of careful listening shapes every clinical decision that follows.
Every treatment plan is tailored specifically to the individual. Where appropriate, Dr Kaul works with colleagues in cardiology, physiotherapy, neurology and rehabilitation to ensure that care extends beyond the respiratory system addressing the whole patient, not just the presenting complaint. The aim is not simply to manage symptoms but to restore confidence, improve function and support long-term wellbeing.
